【摘要】:TestMethod8212;TheCoordinatingResearchCouncilsponsoredtestingtodevelopthistestmethodtoevaluateafuel''stendencytoformintakevalvedeposits.StateandFederalLegislativeandRegulatoryAction8212;RegulatoryactionbyCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)andtheUnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA)necessitatetheacceptanceofastandardizedtestmethodtoevaluatetheintakesystemdepositformingtendencyofanautomotivespark-ignitionenginefuel.RelevanceofResults8212;Theoperatingconditionsanddesignoftheengineusedinthistestmethodarenotrepresentativeofallengines.Thesefactorsshallbeconsideredwheninterpretingtestresults.TestValidity:ProceduralCompliance8212;Thetestresultsarenotconsideredvalidunlessthetestiscompletedincompliancewithallrequirementsofthistestmethod.DeviationsfromtheparameterlimitspresentedinSections12-14willresultinaninvalidtest.Applyengineeringjudgmentduringconductofthetestmethodwhenassessinganyanomaliestoensurevalidityofthetestresults.EngineCompliance8212;AtestisnotconsideredvalidunlessthetestenginemeetsthequalitycontrolinspectionrequirementsasdescribedinSections10and12.1.1Thistestmethodcoversanenginedynamometertestprocedureforevaluationofintakevalvedepositformationofunleadedspark-ignitionenginefuels.ThistestmethodusesaFordRanger2.3Lfour-cylinderengine.Thistestmethodincludesdetailedinformationregardingtheprocedure,hardware,andoperations.1.2TheASTMTestMonitoringCenter(TMC)isresponsibleforengineteststandcalibrationaswellasissuanceofinformationlettersaftertestmethodmodificationsareapprovedbySubcommitteeD02.A0andCommitteeD02.UsersofthistestmethodshallrequestcopiesofrecentinformationlettersfromtheTMCtoensureproperconductofthetestmethod.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddetermineapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregiventhroughoutthistestmethod.
